All-American Afternoon
Sunday, October 10, 2021
The sounds of America’s rich, musical heritage will be on display during All-American Afternoon, featuring American composers Gershwin, Bernstein, Copland, and others.
The Meridian Symphony Orchestra will open its 61st season featuring Juilliard pianist, Sean Chen, and the world renowned Gershwin Concerto in F. After the concerto premiered in 1925, Gershwin was described as "the Prince who has taken Cinderella [jazz] by the hand and openly proclaimed her a princess to the astonished world, no doubt to the fury of her envious sisters."
Join MSO in the Grand Ballroom for lunch before the performance and meet Meridian's own Miss Mississippi 2021, Holly Brand! It will be an unparalleled afternoon in the Queen City celebrating its heritage and promising future. Tickets to the lunch may be purchased through the subscription/ticket order form.
Meridian sounds All-American!
The lunch takes place at the MSU Riley Center Grand Ballroom from 12-2PM.
The concert takes place at the MSU Riley Center and begins at 3PM. Concert seating begins at 2PM.
